Cleaning the Toilet Brush and Its Holder

There are various ways of cleaning a toilet brush and brush holder. And all procedures are given below-

Exploiting in bleach

Filling the bucket with hot water and bleach

Make sure that the pail is rooted enough to hold enough water to fully plunge the toilet brush and holder. Therefore, fill your bucket with warm water as soon as you get it. And then, pour 470 mL 2 cups of bleach into the water. Also, read the back of the bleach bottle and follow the instructions.

Submerging  the brush and holder in the bleach

Spill the bleach into the bucket very carefully and try not to plump. If you have gloves, wear them and make sure that the bleach can’t be touched on your skin or in your eyes. Then leave the brush and holder to sop for minimum 1 hour.

Rinsing the brush and holder  under hot water

Use the warmest water that you have access to. Put both under that water for 30 seconds at least. The hot water fuses the active element in the bleach to make it danger-free for you to touch the bristles.

Repeating the bleaching process every month

Even if you don’t use the toilet brush that often, the brush will still result in bacterial growth and congest grime. So, it is a very good idea to clean it once per month.
Yet, if you rarely use the brush and holder, you can bleach in the toilet brush holder less frequently.

Sterilizing the Toilet Brush

Sprinkling spray on the toilet brush

You can use any disinfectant spray of your choice. When you spray the brush, make sure that you cover its entire surface area. Don’t take a break while spraying until the bristles are oozing. Moreover, spray the brush over the toilet bowl.

Placing  the brush handle under the toilet seat

The toilet seat will comprise the weight of the brush handle in place. In order to make the bristles hanging over the toilet bowl, you want to posit the brush. Let all the surplus disinfectant exude into the toilet. Place the brush there to ooze dry for at least 10 minutes.

You can also exsiccate the brush over a sink or tub. However, if you think about doing this, make sure to clean the sink and tub thoroughly then. The methods of unblocking slow drains might be of interest to you as well.

Running  the brush under hot water

Try to use the warmest water you can find. Put the brush bristles under the water. And run the brush under water. Keep the brush there until the water pouring on the brush is completely clear.

Repeating  the disinfection process with the brush holder

Sprinkle spray on the holder with disinfectant and let it hold for 10 minutes. You can keep the holder to dry on a towel or paper towel. After 10 minutes, pour hot water over the holder.

Cleaning with Natural Products

Submerging  the brush and holder in a vinegar-water solution

Fill the halfway of a  bucket with vinegar and fill the rest with water. Make sure that the bucket is big enough to fully sink the toilet brush and holder. After drenching the brush and holder overnight, wear gloves and carry away the brush and holder.

Scrubbing  the brush with baking soda

Put on rubber gloves. Sprinkle the 0.071 oz 2 grams baking soda over the surface area of the brush. Use an extra brush to scrub and make sure about that it gets in between all the bristles.

Though this step is not that much necessary, its very helpful to get an even deeper clean.

Running  the brush and holder under hot water

Use the warmest or coldest water you have access to. Leave the brush and holder under the water for minimum 30 seconds. Don’t remove either from the water until the water pouring on them is completely done.

How to clean toilet brush holder?

  • Spray the toilet brush holder both inside and outside with a disinfectant spray. If you don’t have bleach nearby, soak it in a solution of bleach for an hour. Keep in mind that any product you use must have safety instructions.
  • Let the water drain for 10 minutes above the toilet bowl.
  • Using boiling water, wash all over.
  • You can use a cloth or a tissue to dry the toilet bowl.
  • Return the toilet brush to the holder.

How to Dry a Toilet Brush?

Now if you stare down at a wet toilet brush surprisingly thinking what to do with it, the tips below will help you to dry off a wet toilet brush in a clever way –

  • After you finish to scour your toilet bowl down, give the toilet a flush and wait until the clean water rinses off the brush.
  • Then keep the handle of the brush under the toilet seat so the brush edge suspends over the toilet bowl.
  • Once it dries, you can place it back in its actual place without disquieting about fetching a tuft of nasty water with it.

How to Store a Toilet Brush?

There is also a question “How to store the brush” that may cross over your mind. And here’s the solution –

It is important to check if the brush is completely dried before storing it. Then put the brush in its container and store it anywhere you like – in a storage closet, in the bathroom or anywhere you find convenient.

If babies and any pets try to touch it, there can spread germs. So, keep it somewhere unreachable to babies or any pets.

Conclusion

A toilet brush should be germ-free at first. But that’s never the case unless you use a toilet brush correctly. After it’s cleaned it will be able to make the toilet disinfect.

On account of using a toilet brush all you have to do is cleanse the whole body of the brush and the brush holder. Then dry them and hide them in a secure place where the children can’t reach them as it can be harmful.
